Lemaxland Tutorial
Make your own little rustic village fence...

Materials required:
- Lolly sticks (or twigs, sticks)
- Multipurpose Wood Glue
- PVA Glue
- Scissors
- Paint (optional)
- Wire & Pliers (optional)

stepone
Cut each lolly stick into 3 equal sections. With the middle section, divide this into two more equal parts. This is tricky as the sticks may splinter, so be extra careful – don’t worry if they are not even, it will add to the rustic feel (these will become your fence struts).

1a) If Using sticks or twigs:
Try to find straight pieces around 3-3½cm length & ½cm girth – these will blend better with your Lemax village
Wash thoroughly and allow to dry for 24hrs
Go to Step 3

1b) If using wire:
Discard the lolly stick’s middle section
Continue to Step 2

With each rounded end section you may want to take a little off each side, so they look less like lolly sticks and more individual to your taste and lemax village. This isn't essential though and the picture below illustrates both to provide variation.

stepthree
Depending on the material used to create your Lemax village fence, may also depend whether you paint it. For the demo we painted ours Dark Brown, but White is a great colour for lemax gardens and parks too. If you are using sticks or twigs you may want to leave them their natural colour. Ensure you read the paint manufacturers instructions so you know how long to leave your fence to dry.

stepfour
This is where things get fiddly, so an extra pair of hands from a willing friend may come in handy! Lay three round end sections in line with each other and equal widths apart. Put a dab of wood glue on each one at the top and the bottom, making sure they are evenly placed. With the fence struts you made earlier in Step One, place one at the top and one at the bottom across the 3 rounded sections, ensuring they are all level and inline. Press firmly for a few seconds. If you want a continuous fence, place struts with an overhang (not inline) so the next round section can be attached and so on.

4a) If you use wire:
We are going to place wire across the top and bottom of the fence. With a ½ metre length, bend in half at equal lengths. At the opposite end (loop end) push through one of the fence struts and twist the wire round tight. Create another loop that you can twist to tighten the next fence strut and so on. Once all your struts are in place, tidy the wire ends with pliers – you don’t want any sharp edges! The advantages are that your fence is flexible and can be shaped to any form you need...

To complete your fence we recommend painting/covering it in PVA Glue – it dries up clear, adds strength and a little sheen too.

Have Fun!

littletips
- Add snow effects to your fence either with paint, snow spray, or sprinkles
- Attach some Lemax trees, shrubs or walling to make them stand out
- Why stop at fences? Make gates, arbours and many more things too!
- Do you have a little Robin? He may look good on your fence as well
